Philosophy

We want people to feel good about what they buy. Each product should be visually appealing and as unique as the person buying it.  All items are assembled by hand using durable materials.  Roughly half of the products offered are made from recycled materials.  The goal of A Perpetual Plum Design, Inc. is to create quality joyful products.

Artist Statement

When Words Fail Me
So often I am asked to describe what I'm doing, how I'm feeling, what I'm creating.  I search to find just...the...perfect..short..insightful phrase that will give meaning to my creation.  Designing for me comes from images and emotions. I use my eyes, ears, nose and touch more often than my mouth. Usually, the words are an afterthought. If I knew the words, I would express them.  I would strive to be a writer of beautiful words, not a designer of beautiful things.  When given words, I search for meaning in visual expression.  I'm either heading towards the visual or away from the verbal.   Peace is when the words are replaced by images floating in and out.

About The Artist

Although, I've always liked shiny things, I discovered a real passion for all things metal while studying Industrial Design (as a second career). I went into business to design and craft lighting fixtures. On a whim I started creating jewelry and items for the home and garden from recycled materials. Currently about half my business is lighting while the other half is unique jewelry, home decor, and one of a kind art. I sell my items in gift shops, galleries and at a few shows.
